From a designers perspective, this seems obvious. Why is is so damn hard for people to produce content? It is YOUR site or YOUR company, so why the hell can’t you write about it or hype it up with out all the hand holding? We are designers, not therapists…right?

I just added this WordPress plugin to the site. It redirects the RSS feed generated by WordPress to my Feedburner account. So, now I know if anyone is following the RSS feed and what user agents/RSS readers etc… they are using. Not bad!

edit: If you saw a “Test” post in the feed, it was just me not realizing I could hard refresh Mac Mail to see this in action. Oops.

My pursuit of ActionScript 3.0/OOP mastery has recently led me to these links.

Learning Actionscript 3 - Companion site for the amazing book of the same title. I recently picked this book up and can’t recommend it enough. If the O’Reilly books are a bit much for you right off the bat, this should be right up your alley.

goToAndLearn - Introduction to OOP - Learn the basics of doing object-oriented programming in ActionScript 2.
While I know this is for ActionScript 2.0, it is super helpful in that it clearly describes the use of classes and introduces some of the main principles of OOP.

Adobe Developer Center - Object-oriented programming with ActionScript 3.0 - Concise and extremely well written article discussing: What are classes?, Basic OOP concepts: Inheritance vs. composition, Encapsulation, & Polymorphism. Includes some extremely well commented source files - a MUST for anyone wetting their tip with ActionScript 3.0.

Complex have an interview up with Creative Director Hiroki Nakamura of Visvim. It’s a great interview - my favorite quote, “The designer’s role is to design good product, that’s all. I just want to make our product better.” Nuff’ said.

I just installed WPhone, which is a plugin for wordpress that reformats the admin panel of your wordpress blog. It makes excellent use of the built in iPhone UI features and screen size. I’m really excited to see new ways companies are adapting their existing web apps to run on the iPhone.

So far, my favorites are fandango, facebook, twitter, and Tada List by 37 signals.

This line really rings true right about now.  The Con is my new feel good album - It was produced by Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie and has a similar sound to their last album Plans. Some people criticize his work for being too produced — come on have they ever listened to Rap? 

I’m going to sleep from the moment I get home sometime soon — until the next day –
its going to be like the day after college again — and I will own it.

It’s early November in New England, the leaves are changing colors and the world around me in New England is at once dying and and becoming beautiful, shedding its old life - looking to the next step. The same, too, can be said for me. I just moved into a new place, left my full-time job, freelanced and relaxed a bit, begun a new full-time new job, and have a few new c03ur projects wrapping and beginning. While I’ve always dreamt of ultimately living on the West Coast - it seems Pacific Street is oddly fitting.
