I just picked up a new point and shoot film camera - it’s a Leica Z2X. Sometimes just pushing the button is the best way to go - you get what you get. These ones are on standard issue Kodak 400, but there’s lots more starting here on Flickr.

I just got back from FITC Toronto and it was an amazing experience. I haven’t felt this creatively/technically motivated in a long time. While I was there I had the opportunity to see Tycho play live at the The Drake Hotel, which coincidentally was where I was staying. I’ll post on The Drake a bit later, since it really deserves its own post.

Over the past few months I’ve been slowly shooting dramatically lit portraits of friends for a small book I’m hoping to put out in the fall. If you are interested in being part of this little project please get in touch or add a comment if you are interested. Ideally you are in and or around Boston, Ma, but if not, I’m always up for a drive.

South Boston has more than its share of craziness and this sits high atop the long list along with the meth addicts and ridiculous “Boston Accent.” Everytime it snows, people save their parking spaces with anything you can imagine. I’ve seen all kinds of things - detergent bottles, cardboard boxes, parking cones are a favorite, recycling bins, garbage cans, kitchen stools & chairs. Today, I even saw a plugin vertical space heater out in the snow trying desperately to save a space for some poor soul. I documented the entire block that circles the park by my house and archived it as a new set - Welcome to Southie.
I made the mistake of moving one of these items to park late one night, around 2am. I awoke to find my brand new car with a punched out drivers side window. The sad part is that this all takes place on a public street. That’s Southie for you, I guess I’ve been “beat in” to the gang.

Anna and I spent last weekend in and around NYC. We visited Robb and spent the night in Red Hook, the part of Broklyn he recently moved to. We spent most of our time wandering around on the hunt for the many delicious Vegan eateries strewn about the city. We also checked out The New Museum, visited the village, and hit up Broadway and Times square.
On a side note: I’ve been working at LocaModa for the past few months and we recently launched Jumbli, a word game you can play using your mobile phone. You can see it live on the JumboTron near the W hotel 24/7 . Play online at jumbli.tv or in location in Times Square. What you see online, is what they see in Times Square. This is the start of some big things, and really raises the bar on interactive development.
