It was 1999 when I first got really excited about design for the web and designs place on the web. It was a strange time technically, since web-standards were just emerging and many designers were just getting comfortable with merging their offline work with the new media available on the web. I spent what seemed like hours just clicking and drawing, finding inspiration around every corner. At the time, I was immediately drawn to the type of work people like Michael Cina, Michael Young, Jemma Gura (now Hosteller), & James Patterson because they were successfully creating work that so clearly had a unique voice while at the same time creating a home for it.
Today, Michael Young and Mike Cina work collectively as WWFT weworkforthem and also run the online design boutique YWFT youworkfothem. The still above is from Finding Eutaw and North, an experimental DVD combining produced by them available YWFT.
