“For creatives, maybe look for someone who has made a popular YouTube hit on his or her own, or who shares his or her photos on Flickr. Hire based on someone’s genuine personal motivation to be part of the current social fabric.” - via AdWeek, How to Hire From the Internet by Benjamin Palmer of the barbarian group.

With all the humdrum surrounding the new Macbook Pro and the lack of matte finish screens I ‘m surprised I have yet to see a mention of any type of film to reduce glare. Power support USA, the company that makes a glare reduction film for the iPhone, also has a film to reduce glare on the MacBook Pro. While this film is made with the intended use on the last rev glossy screens, I’m sure it would do the trick for the last release. A friend of mine has the iPhone version and it’s stunning.

“When running Safari; in portrait orientation the screen dimensions are 320 by 356 pixels. In landscape the dimensions change to 400 by 208 pixels.

The URL field can drop down at any time, so the extra 60 pixels at the top should not be counted on when trying to keep important items above the fold.”

Deathbowl to Downtown is screening at Harvard tonight. Make it if you can. Also, be sure to check the film’s site, which is yet another on the list of great executions of flash, this time with some nice fullscreen scaling video backgrounds.

Following up on the topic of lovely flash sites, you can add Australia’s Umeric to the list. Check the right click menu and use of SWF Address. I’m stoked to see these things becoming more and more prevalent in the work that is out there, especially on sites of studios who can lead the way and help raise the bar.
